This one hour walking tour takes you to all the main light filled areas--the Plaza, Flagler's Hotels, and Avenida Menendez along the bayfront. This is NOT a tour that focuses on the dark, sinister, ghostly side of the Oldest City (there are plenty of those), but rather on the "light"--the beautiful, uplifting and liberating stories of the Ancient City.
This walking tour really is the best way to take in all the lights (over 2 million!) and learn about both the history of the NOL and the illuminating aspects of St. Augustine's history, culture, and architecture. The NOL occurs from the weekend before Thanksgiving to the end of January.
Payments can be made by Venmo to Scott-Farber-10 or by Zelle to 5waveslearning@gmail.com. Pay early to reserve your spot. All payments must be made at least 24 hrs. in advance.
Learn about the fascinating multicultural history of St. Augustine--the Oldest City. Includes the colonial Spanish and British periods as well as the Timucua, the Minorcans, African-Americans, and more.
Pirates have played a significant role in the Ancient City. Drake, Searle, Brehal, Ranson and Grammont are just some of the pirates who have attacked the town. Explore the places where pirates roamed and ransacked.
Moorish Revival, Spanish Renaissance, Victorian, Queen Anne, Romanesque, Mission, Neo-gothic, Neo-colonial, Mediterranean Revival, Bungalow.... St. Augustine boasts a plethora of architectural styles, not to mention over three dozen authentic colonial buildings. It is a treasure trove of art and beauty.
Walk down ancient alleyways and shadowy streets. Discover the ghastly--and ghostly--history of the Ancient City and learn why it's considered one of the most haunted towns in the country. (Offerred only in the evening.)
